Operations and Office Administrator

Work with Hope into Action: Cambridge

About the role:

Hope into Action Cambridge are seeking a highly organised and passionate Operations and Office Administrator to join an exciting, dynamic, and growing organisation. This role is all about the operational running and administration of the Cambridge project. You will be supporting the team and partner churches to work with those that may be vulnerable to or have experienced homelessness.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • The operations and administration around keeping our properties well maintained and to an excellent standard.

  • Supporting the team in tenant pathways and tenant finance.

  • Coordination of the Cambridge office

  • Working with external contractors, companies, and organisations.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for a highly organised and passionate individual to join the Cambridge team. You will have a heart for vulnerable people and a desire to see holistic change for our tenants. A key area in the project is the quality of our homes, and that will be your primary role - to keep Cambridges eleven homes very well maintained and to an excellent standard. Good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise a varied workload, and a desire to have streamlined work processes and systems are essential characteristics.

The team and wider network are at the heart of who we are and how we work. You will want to be an integral part of the team and the HiA wider network.

About us:

In Cambridge we are at the forefront of providing excellent quality supported accommodation to those that need it most in the city. We currently have 11 properties in Cambridge and surrounding towns, supporting over 30 adults and children.

We provide not just shelter and housing know-how, but also the friendship of a church. Together with over 50 churches, we provide direct support to people whom others have often given up on. Our first home had a real heart for men coming out of prison. Homes are now available for a wide range of people experiencing homelessness: people in recovery from addiction, people sleeping rough, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people coming out of rehab, former prostitutes, refugees, those suffering mental health issues and survivors of human trafficking.

We are now partnering with churches across the country. We encourage others to use our model by franchising the idea. Our vision is for every church to lovingly provide the homeless with a home. The tragedy of homelessness is in every community. We believe that with our help, every church can do something about it.
